Author Guidelines

The Paktia University International Journal of Social Sciences (PUIJSS) welcomes original, unpublished, and high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the Social Sciences. Authors must carefully follow the guidelines below to ensure proper evaluation and publication.

1. Language: Manuscripts may be submitted in English, Pashto, Dari, or Arabic (for language and literature studies), provided they maintain academic clarity and standard scholarly writing.
2. Manuscript Structure: Each submission should include the following components: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Literature Review (if applicable), Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
3. Abstract and Keywords: The abstract should be concise (150–250 words) and clearly summarize the purpose, methodology, key findings, and conclusions of the study. Authors must provide 5–7 relevant keywords.
4. Formatting Requirements: Manuscripts must be submitted in MS Word format using standard academic formatting. Tables, figures, and illustrations should be clearly labeled, numbered, and appropriately referenced within the text.
5. Referencing Style: The journal follows the APA referencing style (latest edition). All in-text citations and reference lists must be accurate, complete, and consistent.
6. Originality and Plagiarism Policy: Submissions must be original and not under review elsewhere. All manuscripts are screened for plagiarism, and any work with significant similarity will be rejected.
7. Ethical Compliance: Authors must ensure compliance with academic and research ethics, including proper citation, data integrity, and disclosure of any conflicts of interest.
8. Submission Process: All manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s OJS platform. Authors are required to register, upload their manuscript, and follow the online submission workflow.
9. Peer Review: All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process. Final decisions are made based on reviewers’ recommendations and editorial assessment.

Submission Checklist

Before submitting a manuscript to the Paktia University International Journal of Social Sciences (PUIJSS), authors must ensure that the following requirements are met:

☐ The manuscript is original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
☐ The manuscript follows the journal’s formatting and structure guidelines.
☐ The abstract (150–250 words) and 5–7 keywords are included.
☐ The manuscript is written in an acceptable academic language (English, Pashto, Dari, or Arabic where applicable).
☐ References are formatted according to APA style (latest edition).
☐ All figures, tables, and illustrations are properly labeled and cited in the text.
☐ Ethical standards are fully observed, including proper citation and avoidance of plagiarism.
☐ Any conflicts of interest or funding sources are clearly disclosed.
☐ The manuscript file is submitted in MS Word format through the OJS system.
☐ All authors have approved the final version of the manuscript.
