Peer Review Process
The Paktia University International Journal of Social Sciences (PUIJSS) implements a rigorous double-blind peer review system to uphold the highest standards of academic quality, objectivity, and research integrity. In this process, the identities of both authors and reviewers are strictly concealed to ensure an unbiased evaluation.
All submitted manuscripts are first subjected to an initial editorial screening, during which the editorial team assesses the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, originality, methodological quality, and compliance with ethical and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that meet these criteria proceed to external peer review.
Each eligible manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers assess the submission based on its originality, theoretical contribution, methodological rigor, clarity, academic significance, and relevance to the discipline. Their detailed reports form the basis for editorial decision-making.
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations, the editorial board renders one of the following decisions: acceptance, acceptance with minor revisions, major revisions (revise and resubmit), or rejection. In cases requiring revision, authors are expected to respond to reviewers’ comments comprehensively and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe.
The final publication decision rests solely with the editorial board and is granted only after satisfactory completion of all required revisions. The journal is committed to transparency, fairness, confidentiality, and adherence to internationally recognized ethical publishing standards throughout the review process.
